For Easter weekend I went back home to Brussels, so I thought it was only fair to take a few snaps of Brussels and Belgian fashion for you to see. I thought Rue Neuve would be an appropriate place to take a couple of street style photos. Rue Neuve, in my opinion, is the equivalent of Oxford Street apart from it is A LOT less crowded. There are mainly high street rather than high end clothes shops; Zara is very popular in Belgium as is Bershka and H&M, and New Look has only recently opened in Brussels and is already a huge success. Despite the globalization of international high street brands, I do feel that the Belgian ‘look’ is slightly different to British fashion.
This young woman is braving the cold and wearing skin tone instead of black tights which is really refreshing and seasonal. I love the light pastel colors worn here and the jacket and scarf enable this summery look to be worn on chillier spring days.
The nautical theme has clearly hit Brussels as well. The stripy top is from New Look in Brussels and is worn with a fake leather jacket and an ethnic purple slouch bag.
